PROBLEM: i have a 7mgte with a spun bearing and 100300 miles, perfect compression all around.

GOAL: to have an engine capable of holding 400-450HP

PLAN: im going to get the crank spun and replace the old bearings (main and rod) with new stockers and put in new thrust bearings. im going to replace every gasket with stockers, and put in a new stock HG with ARP head bolts (the big ???). i am also going to replace the valve seals because mine were leaking oil onto my spark plugs. im going to do the washer oil pump mod thing.

does this look good? is my logic right?

Head gasket and connecting hardware a big negative on the 450hp it you want it to live.

Do all that you said with the addition of:

-New oil pump
-Arp rod bolts
-Metal head gasket
-ARP bolt or studs for head

ok thats what i thought, and i didnt take that as a smart ass coment so your ok. now my next question is, do you have to disassemble the head to get it machined? and also how much power can the stock HG with arp bolts hold?

Stock headgasket and ARPs I've heard of going into the 450's but not lasting long.

The commetic head gasket will take up to and over 1000hp... ITS VERY PICKY ABOUT SMOOTH SURFACES.

You will need to have the block and head completely torn down.

would a cometic HG be good?

yes. unless you want to be making 550+ in the future.

and where'd that info come from? where in cometic's directions or website does it say that it cannot handle that power level? i sure didn't see it anywhere. if the headgasket doesn't last, then you have a tuning, cooling, or machine work problem. a stock headgasket could be pushed to 500hp with proper tuning, although i'm sure it'd start to disform at that level, i HIGHLY doubt a cometic would...

i believe your information is wrong, sir.

no, it was flatened all around. basically like it was squeezed really hard and some came out the sides and gave it a "[" crossection.
