Just cleans up the engine bay. Its a gas tank vent filter that vents gas fumes into the air when pressure builds up. Remove it and it just wont be filtered. Ive heard that you can sometimes smell gas fumes on hot days but i havent noticed it.

Yep...and you'll vent gas fumes out next to a hot turbo. Can you say "flame on"? If you block the vent line from the tank, pressure builds up...not good either...you would have to drill a vent hole in the gas cap.

The charcoal cannister has no effect on gas milage...it's actually part of the emissions system to keep gas vapor pollution out of the air. Removing it serves no useful purpose.

Anyone have one of thse for sale? I had a couple PM's from a guy awhile back that was selling one but I must have deleted them. I need the whole unit, the canister, bolts, bracket(s), hoses....EVERYTHING. I took mine out thinking I'd be all cool but I really don't want to mess with hot gas vapors in my engine bay.

Empera got a charcoal cannister ($8) in the for sell section. I've got a nice chrome 2 piece bracket for it...PM me if you're interested.

ive got one also.

... you said you dont want gasoline vapors in your engine bay, of course not. but you realize that you can just cap off the line that was going to the CC and drill a hole in your gas cap in order to vent it right?

Cant you just buy a pressure relief gas cap. You know one with the little button you push to let out the pressure. I mean let it out once and awhile. Wouldnt that work??

The Tank needs to "breathe" or there won't be any fuel flow (don't think the pump would be strong enough to create a vacuum and collapse it)

So unless the guys advocating drilling the cap are drilling a hole equal to the CC Vent line they might be affecting fuel mixtures (no idea by what degree)

This isn't nearly as critical as with a Carb motor but would still have an affect.
