CC mounting question

Alright, I just received my new CC and need to fab up a bracket. Now I know the premise behind the CC but not the actual internal operation of it. Does the CC need to remain in a vertical position to work or can it be mounted horizontally. Any help would be appreciated.

I'm guessing vertical, it's just a big ass "filter".
