I am sure 7M, 1J, and 2J are all similiar so here I go. My car is a 1J but my power steering resoirver can not go where it originally was. I figure why not move it towards the front of the car to make it cleaner look in the end but my problem now is the bottom ps fluid feed is lower then the intake feed on the ps pump itself. Its about 1-2 inch lower then the ps pump intake feed. Would this interfere flow or will the constant pressure coming back from the rack push fluid still?

This is where I want to move it to. As you can see the bottom port is about 1-2 inch lower from the ps intake feed.

Although the pump will pull the fluid to it, it isnt a good idea. It is meant to be gravity fed and the pump pushes the fluid for the pressure.

Wouldn't be a bad idea to make a heat shield for it, much like the JDM/EUDM heat shield used on right hand drive cars to protect the clutch master and brake master from exhaust heat.

I wouldn't want my PS fluid to get TOO hot. ;)

Mine is mounted there, no heat shield (I know, bad idea, it's on the to-do list). Sometimes my steering feels a little funky, unsure if it's related as I've never driven another Supra but it's possible. I know I don't have any leaks or anything in the system. I'd definitely recommend a heat shield if you're gonna move it right there.

thanks for the advice everyone, ill be sure to get a heat shield and insultate the lines

jdub, i tryed placing it up near the front of the car, but the ic pipes and the intake crowded everything. makes me want to either just get that FFIM to clean up a little bit. or i should of just gone JZ when i had the chance. piping sucks. any suggestions?
