i would go with a good company that has a reputation of selling good driveshafts. i wouldn't look at ebay from buying such an important part for the car. i wouldnt want the thing to fall apart while racing.

IIRC, Jawsgear sells his DS's on ebay. But, you can go through him, driftmotion, or suprasport to get a Jawsgear DS.

Another thing people aren't taking into account when discussing 2 piece V's 1 piece is that the Centre bearing weight needs to be subtracted from the equation as it's neither rotating or supported by the Shaft in use (think sprung/unsprung weight in suspension terms)

In real terms there is very little difference with the 2 piece having certain benefits that are important.

Yeah think about the width of the DS and then the torque required to overcome the difference in weight depending on gear ratio.

4" width? = .3 ft/lb torque for every lb of weight on the DS at a 1:1 ratio

so in the lower gears it makes even less of a difference. At a 3:1 ratio you would have to shave off 10 lbs to gain 1 ft/lb of torque

Fuzz: Yep a very custom 2 piece.....

My point is everyone that raves that a 1 piece is xx lbs lighter is mistaken as you can't factor in non rotating or weight supported by the chassis into it.

It's 99% placebo effect the other 1% accounted by either a worn CB or the Rubber bond in the rear section failing and causing the shaft to be out of phase which will rob power.

Yes I think a custom 2 piece would be more to my liking. I wonder though if a driveshaft shop can balance the two pipe with center bearing combo together as it would have to be done as a whole unit. Getting rid of the rubber bond and two pipes on the back would surely be nice.
I had a shop here make me a one oiece but no one here can balance it so I took it off. It vibrated at around 70 mph and got worse the faster I went but there was an improvement in performance. Acceleration was crisper.
How much weight can be shaved with a custom 2 piece there IJ. ?
