What are the WHP Goals? Basic things you will need would be Wire Harness from both, a EMS, 1JZ bell housing or GM adaptor (depends on tranny used) custom motor mounts from BIC Performance if pre late 89 body. Other depends on the HP Goals.

It would likely help a whole lot if you defined what a 'high HIGH hp' car means to you. Some people think 300hp is high, others think you need 1600hp before you even start to enter the field.

Further, you could define what you plan to use the car for. Dyno contests, street, drag racing, circuit racing, all have different requirements.

there are a couple mkiii drag cars going 9s-8s.. it should be strong enough..

if you are talking about BMPC, they are using a 96 supra rear end. i think madavi motorsports is using the stock rear end, but i think it has a cusco or ATS LSD.

i plan on chaging mine to mk4 rear end just to be on the safe side and lower my overall gear ratios..

REALLY?!?! very interesting... LMK when you change the rear end, I'm very interested in that! 6spd is a lot more appealing with the mkiv rear..

I would how much different the rear end mount points are? sean.. get pictures :)

A few MKIII's are running low 10's with the OEM diff. I have the OEM as well and plan on keeping it. The MKIV diff stock always seem to break as they are Torsen (similar to the stock 1J RHD I had.) The diff so far is good but I have an OEM diff in my LHD Supra and I ran 1.5 60's on mine which was the MKIII North American diff with 3.73's (651 RWTQ) and held fine. I again say keep it and see what happens. Now if you are using an OEM diff with tons of miles on it, I can't what will happen. I had mine rebuilt shortly after I bought the car.

Correct me if I am wrong on the MKIV diff but I am pretty sure I am not.

The mkiv torsen is a lot stronger then the mkiii torsen, but they are weak. They switch them out with a TRD clutch type diff.. those will handle whatever you throw at them it seems..
