hey all, i've been problems with the oem spark plug wires, i keep breaking the ends that go onto the distributor because they are so poorly made... bad to the point where i just remove them with little force and the metal contacts break right off..

basically i need a reasonably priced wire that is durable

Garbage and name calling cleared out folks. It's 100% not acceptable, especially in a tech section thread. Be civil.

Toyota wires can be expensive, but NGK has had good responses in the mk2 world.

I run toyota OEM wires, I was able to get them at a discounted price so they made a little more sense. They appear to be high quality, as most toyota parts.

anything will beat those crappy xacto wires from autozone

the ngk's are $86 there, however i might check out toyota for the ones suggested. i'm thinkin the oem toyota ones would be special order since everything else i get there is lol.

on a tight budget just dropped 3/4 of my bank account on parts for a restore.

I'm running MSD 8.5 super conductors.
You have to make the wires for the n/a.
They come with there own gapper and splicer tool.
They come with numbers that wrap around the wires so you don't have to be looking for that pesky hard to read number.
They look sharp. The performance is awesome.
For right around 100 buckish. You too can be the proud owner of a set.

Nothing in the world wrong with some nice NGK wires.
If you bought OEM replacements from anywhere other than the dealership.
You aren't using real toyota plug wires. You're using bunk that works on chevys'
and fords.

If you have the receipt try taking them back. If you have had them too long..., then you know this and you'll probably have to eat them.

Go to the site. Dig up the # and call it.
Dial ext. 103 when the automation asks for it.

You'll be speaking to Dave.
He can get you quallity parts and aid you in avoiding this from happening again.

The MSD's run between 100/125 and 150$$$$$$$$$$
Depends on the season and sales. Always ask for the discount, and follow that up with how many more parts you'll be ordering if all of this goes smoothly.

And, it will. You'll have parts showing up 2 and 3 days later.
And it'll either all be there. Or it's on its' way.

I hope this helps. Good Luck.

thanks alot man very useful, and you're right about those plugs they are complete crap, this is my third set in a year, i didn't buy them, my pops loves buying the cheapest rubbish parts he can find as long as it has a lifetime warranty.

i will eat them and get some poisoning that way i can get some money back for them hahahaha.

you're saying the MSD wires are a "build your own wire" type of kit?
i heard they are a quality part that lasts much longer than other wires.

I think i can hold off for a couple days instead of going to autozone and spending an arm and leg on a good set of wires.

I've had the MSD's for around 5 years now, had to replace the coil wire due to the change in coil, wasn't long enough, ordered another MSD to replace it, happy with them:)
