im starting to really hate things that are made in a different country.this harness for the maft pro is a piece of shit. either that or theres a problem somewhere else.

everytime i move the maft pro the tps voltage varies. on idle it could go from 0.34 to 0.42 just by lifting it up to look at it. i dont know where it should be. but im starting to think that soldering all the wires directly into the motherboard could be my only option at this point. damn car runs like shit when it jumps around.

so what am i to do? have anybody else had this problem? do i get a warranty harness?

and what countries would those be? everything MAFT is made right in the USA....

sounds like your method of attachment to the engine wiring harness or the engine wiring harness itself is to blame....remember the MAFT pro is merely measuring the TPS V, not making any changes to it (provided you have it wired correctly...). verify ALL wiring...

Sounds like user error on the connections. Did you use the included taps with the Maft-Pro or solder all your connections?

are the boards not made in china then shipped to the usa for assembly?

all my connections are soldered, ive been soldering for years and there is no issues with my quality. i understand that it only takes measurements from the tps but it uses those measurements to adjust the way the car runs. the metal connectors are just not getting a good enough connection... im going to desolder the connector from the maft pro board and solder the wires directly to the board.

if there are still issues then its either a crap wire or the board is bad.

if i push up or down on the wire loom by the connector it changes the volts. so i know its not my connection at the ECU.

if anybody has a reason why this is a bad idea please post. i will be taking pictures and what not for people who start to have the same issue...

or maybe its just me. but i rarely picked up or moved the maft pro the whole time ive had it as i dont have a wideband yet for tuning. just running speed/density.

I've got an issue with a short in mine, I just haven't taken the time to narrow it down further.

I had issues with my TPS voltage when I installed my MAFT-Pro. It was reading higher than it should have, and was jumping around. Pulled the TPS off and took it apart... Found out how it works: Positive pedal push makes the thing rotate. When you let off the gas, a clock spring inside the TPS moves it back to "idle" reading.

My TPS was clogged with schmutz. I cleaned the crap out of it and strategically put some silicone spray in to keep it moving smooth. Re-assembled and reading dead nuts on the same every time now. I never would have known I had the problem except that the MAFT-Pro reading wasn't right.

Might be worth pulling the TPS apart and checking the clock spring returns it to the same place every time.

the problem turned out to be that the male prong on the maft pro side was smaller than all the other prongs. Crazy, I know, but I can take pictures to show. I haven't soldered it in yet, but I will be doing that here soon as soon as I get around to it and have some free time.
