Have you noticed that for the last couple of years, every doom and gloom prophecy that you've made has failed to come true?

The great thing I've found about you is that I don't need to argue with you. I can just wait. And you're wrong, every damned time.

Just waiting for your next piece of epic failure... Tick tock...

Wrong when? Yes, I missed my prediction for a record hurricane season because I narrowed it down to US soil. (too bad Mexico did not count) Other than that, I am not sure I have made any predictions except for Obama being Pres and that is looking pretty good from where I sit. ;)

Ohh, and there was this other little prediction.
2007 was the warmest on record for Earth's land areas.

Sorry, Most of the info in wiki is footnoted with their sources at the bottom of the page so you can check for yourself... That is not weak...

Sources like these from the US Energy Information Administration...

Oil consuption is greater than oil production, Oil production is way down.

Do the math..Tick tock...

Well then, we're pretty well FUBAR, as someone has finally done the numbers on the real disadvantages of bio-fuels. Simply put they are not even close to the be all end all every green peace eco-psychos claims they are. Corn based ethanols can nearly double the CO2 emissions, rather than reduce it like most people think. Some food for thought.

Hard to argue with the hard facts of poodwaddle.com. I mean isn't that the source for economists to gather data?

If you go to this site:

http://www.badgerbadgerbadger.com/

You'll notice the global Badger population is growing out of control. They outnumber the Mushrooms by a lot. And the snake is almost extinct...

We have to do something about global Badgers! Think of the snake!

2007-1880 = 127

127/4,000,000,000 = .000003175% of the Earth's lifespan.

Also, if you think dinosaurs make fuel aka gasoline, does THIS MEAN PROOF OF LIFE ON SATURN?

http://www.eurekalert.org/features/kids/2006-01/aaft-irn010606.php

No, that just means there is CARBON and HYDROGEN there.

Where else is there CARBON and HYDROGEN? Oh yeah, living tissue. Water, carbon based lifeforms....

Do I think the oil is depleting? Yes. When you use more than you can pump, you will run out of USABLE oil. How much crude oil is left? Nobody on the planet knows for certain.

There's a hell of a lot of land, under the ocean, that is ripe for the production of fossil fuels. Will it be hard to get to? Probably. Will we run out? Not for a damn long while.

Does that mean we don't need to look for alternative energy sources? Of course not.

Sorry Jon, you just spun that one way out of proportion, so I had to post this ;)

Everyone, quit being stupid. :3d_frown:

Wait... do you really believe we're running out of oil?

You're not being facetious?

Nope, not at all... If you looked at that 3rd link from the US energy information admin, you can clearly see that us oil production peaked in exactly October of 1970.. At no point from October 1970 on did the US produce more oil than 310,403 (thousand barrels) a month and this number has slowly decreased over the last 37 years to where we are today at under 150,000 (thousand barrels) a month..

So the US oil production is way down and the same thing is happening all over the world as we speak.

Now, please take a good long look at these 4 charts here from 2006 in this link.
http://www.eia.doe.gov/emeu/cabs/topworldtables1_2.htm

We consumed more than 3 times the oil than any other country in the world..
We imported more than half of all our oil from other countries...
We can not produce enough oil for even half of our consumption....
We do not export oil.

My logic tells me that the clock is ticking....

Do I believe we will run out of oil completely on this planet? No, There will always be some oil but the bulk of it will be too expensive for most of us here to buy.

Do I believe we have 42 years of good oil times left? No, when I listen to the experts in Saudi Arabia say their oil production will be over in 8 years it makes me think we have even less time here as the bulk of our imports come from the middle east..

You boys still don't think we are in Iraq for 100 years like Mccain said because they want our democracy and freedoms do you? Believe that and I got a slightly used oil well to sell you....

Get a clue people. Gas prices are the one of the smaller problems in the big equation of our messed up world nowadays. :3d_frown:

This is coming from reading the first 20 posts only here.

Sorry Joel, but most of the United State's oil comes from south america and south american companies in the gulf of mexico.

Just because you post a pic of oil wells doens't mean we are in IRAQ over oil.

Actually, according to this we are both wrong.

Canada sold us more oil than any one country last year...

I see Canada as being the new "axis of evil" threat soon.. :biglaugh:

Also, when they say "If we leave Iraq now, we will be paying $9 a gallon later" it does...What does that mean to you? I posted a picture of abandoned oil wells that no longer produce any oil, they are not refilling was the point of that..They are for sale, cheap...

It means you are dealing with Demagoguery and listening to a modern politician. As I said in another post, the best definition of demagoguery I've ever heard was:

"one who will preach doctrines he knows to be untrue to men he knows to be idiots."

Remember this when you hear that tripe, two things are going on. You are listening to a liar, but more importantly you are listening to a liar who is convinced you are a fool.

Or, it could mean just as it sounds. This war is/was about oil the whole time and they admitted it...

Much of the worlds reserves are stored under the middle east and in their opinion, the only way to secure our nations way of life it to control it.
