I need to make a custom downpipe for my Frank 5 20g set-up.

It's a T3 exhaust housing, however, I can't find this damn flange anywhere. I've ordered two or three which clame to be T3, however, they still don't fit.

I'd like to get a custom flange CNC'd. I can send you my current Trust elbow to use as a template. I don't know anyone near me with a CNC, nor do I trust any machine shops in my area.

Any help whatsoever is greatly appreciated.

Here's a pic of elbow:

Found a bit of info on the Frank 5:

Frankenstein Turbos:
Frank 1 = 46 trim, 20*clipped TD05H turbine, TD05H 7cm2 housing
Frank 2 = 46 trim, unclipped TD06 turbine, TD05H 7cm2 housing
Frank 50 = 50 trim, unclipped TD06 turbine, TD05H 7cm2 housing
Frank 3 = 54 trim, unclipped TD06 turbine, TD05H 7cm2 housing
Frank 57 = 57 trim, unclipped TD06 turbine, TD05H 7cm2 housing
Frank 4 = 60 trim, 10*clipped TD06 turbine, TD05H 7cm2 housing
Frank 5 = 60 trim, unclipped TD06H turbine, TD05H 7cm2 housing
Frank 6 = 60 trim, unclipped TD06H turbine, TD05H 8cm2 housing
Frank 7 = 60 trim, 10*clipped TD06H turbine, TD05H 8cm2 housing

Along with a host of other information:

http://www.zerotohundred.com/newforums/tech-forced-induction/26477-turbo-specifications.html

How about this:
http://www.verociousmotorsports.com...arge-Flanges/T3-3-Bolt-Turbo-Discharge-Flange
.f

You could use that, then weld a V-band flange w/ some pipe to it (to clear the studs), and bam, awesome exhaust! Woo!

That's all I got for now. :)

Thanks for the heads up Chris.

I actually have all of that information saved and have read it many times.

I purchased the flange you pictured and unfortunately, it does not fit. Hence why I made this thread.

At this point, I think I'd rather get one made and know its a perfect fit. Thanks though homie. You've always got my back :biglaugh:

Edit: This is the original piece I had made by MDC. He made the downpipe and the T3 V-Band adaptor was made by ATP Turbo. However it doesnt fit. My plan is to just get an actual flange CNC'd and weld it the the ATP adapter. Voila, problem fixed...hopefully....

Bah. LOL. I tried! What's the inside diameter of your elbow at the exhaust flange? And the bolt spacing as well?

I have access to one but it will probably not be that cheap as the setup time for one part is killer. Whats the max price you wanna pay? Also would you send me the elbow to replicate?

Seth

Well, truthfully, I'm not looking to spend much. However, I realize this probably isn't going to be cheap.

I would send you the elbow to use as a template for the flange.

Cool. I'll post up if I find anything else. I was browsing Greddy's site, and if you click on a Nissan application for a turbo kit, (using the TDO6H), they have a piece of exhaust pipe with your flange on it. I doubt it's available separate, though. :(

if you want one that is truly identical, PM 4U2quik... im sure he'd love the little project...

Thanks Rennat. I'll send him a PM and see what he says. I went to one machine shop and they wanted to charge me $400 to create a one piece vband adaptor with this custom flange!

I don't want to pay anywhere near that so I'm looking for a much cheaper alternative.

DOH! Stupid Nissans get everything lol

Thanks again Chris. Like I said before, I never worry. One way or another, I know we'll always figure it out.

The one I posted earlier:

This looks nearly the same as the other I posted:
http://www.roadraceengineering.com/flangesandgaskets.htm
flan-stl-3gprecat.JPG

vs a your elbow image cropped:

p1294594_1.jpg

vs your ATP setup:
p1294594_2.jpg

The first pic I posted looks right, but without measurements off of it, I couldn't say for sure. Look at the spacing of the bolt holes and how far from the exhaust opening they are. The first image is MUCH closer to what you need than the ATP unit you have. (where the bolt holes are too close to the exhaust area)

And just to put it in here with all the others, the ATP that Al and I posted (alternate model):

I am for just the flange I would not charge you for the design work, would only take a few mins and I get a good deal at the shop next door on CNC work so it would be under $100 and if you wanted me to add a v-band it would be $60 for a really nice V-band kit and then maybe $30 for me to tig the V-band on.

A one off CNC flange from a machine shop will run you $250 at best. That stuff is not cheap.

Measure from the center of each bolt hole to the center of the other 2 bolt holes. Then measure the big hole. Tell us what those are, and we'll find one for you.

ATP has about everything. Make sure you look at the alternate model flange.

Al, good to see you're still around. :) I posted that ATP link above, too. Mo's gotta get this car done! (So he can motivate me to finish mine! LOL)

I edited my comparo to include the other ATP piece.

Thanks for all of the replies guys.

Sethron, I will be in touch. I may give ATP another shot and see if one of their flanges works. If not, your offer sounds pretty damn good.

We'll see how it goes.

FWIW - atp has a "kit" thats $39 for the two v-bands and the clamp, and then if you want stainless you can call and sub them in and the price will go up...

but to the opener, you could trace the design on some really thick paper that way you can just mail it to sethron instead of shipping the entire elbow...
another thing though is i would call atp and talk to them, give them the bolt spacing and ID of the hole, they should have a file for it.
If not im sure they could make it for a lot less than most of the users on here with a/access shop

I am still around. Not posting a lot. Just doing my thing. Car is AEM'ed and is running quite well.

Mo needs to measure what he's got there to erase the confusion. It's problee the alternate flange there.

Shaeff. GET YOUR CAR DONE!!!! :)
