I still have stock injectors and fuel pump. I set my fuel pressure to 35psi with the vacum tube off. Any problems with that setting?

What is the typical fuel pressure at idle w/vacum tube attached?

I also notice that since I've installed the regulator, the car cranks longer before starting. There are no leaks evident. Is this normal with these regulators?

Thx guys!

I come from a land down under
My "understanding" of the Aeromotive FPR is it has a minimum of 40 Psi (just bought one) So maybe setting it to 35 is blowing the valve off the seat and not letting the rail pressurise enough for a clean start?

I am going to turn up the pressure to 40 today. I can't see any harm in that. Yesterday, when I merged onto the freeway, I got on it a bit and I either hit fuel cut or I need to turn up the pressure a bit. She fell on her face at about 4500rpm. Scared the crap out of me! :biglaugh:

When I go out to my car after work, the pressure bleeds down to almost 0. Not sure if that's common with the Aeromotives either.

Most pumps are tested/rated at 43 Psi.

The pump has a non return valve in it to hold pressure and these do wear out so the bleed down has nothing to do with the Aero.

Was it fuel cut or did it lean out?
(keeping in mind I'm very new to all this petrol stuff so my info may not be 100% correct)

Well, I am very much a newb the supra scene entirely! Not sure if it was fuel cut. I'm shimmed to 11psi of boost so I know I'm right at the point of fuel cut; but, never hit it before.

When this happened, the seat belt was the only thing keeping me from going threw the windshield. (not really; but, this was a very violent experience) The check engine light came on and the rpm's dropped. I took my foot off the gas and looked in my rearview to look for smoke; but, then the check engine light went off and my rpms came back to idle. I continued on to work with out any issues and haven't had any since.

Yeah, that's what I thought it was. It was scary!

I need to get my walbro installed. After that, Maft Pro and a set of 550's! :icon_bigg

I'm hoping that turning up the pressure to 40 will be enough to keep the fuel rail pressurized. I don't like the excessive cranking that I'm experiencing. It's sort of embarrassing too. Here's this wicked looking Supra that just sits there and cranks....and cranks....and cranks....
