so i recently been having problems with my walbro 255
bought it 2 yrs ago for another supra but never installed
installed the pump into my 91 due to the old pump was bad(oem)
walbro has been installed for 6-7 months and i didnt do the 12v mod

the past few weeks my walbro has been getting louder and louder
last night in boost at 20psi i noticed my afr leaning out to 15:1
immediatly let off
got home and noticed my fuel pressure was long
cold start fuel pressure is 42 psi...drive to work 40 miles 1 hr my fuel pressure pulsates between 30-34 psi

anyways i have heard good and bad about the walbros

anybody have experience with the aeromotive 340?

HP goal will be 500 hopefully by the summer

thanks for any input

I may aswell ask here but IJ any issues with over heated fuel? deciding on adding another 255lph to my current set up or a single 400

I run a stock Holden pump to an 8 litre fuel cell that has 2x 400's inside, I run a couple of Aeromotive pump controllers so at idle/cruise only 1 pump runs at reduced volume to prevent it boiling the fuel, I also run returnless so this makes a diference.

Another benefit of the 400's is they're fairly new so no Copies out there... yet ;)

I've ran a bunch of different pumps over the years and have never been as impressed by the free flow of the 400's, not even the 040 and 044 Bosch combo I ran came close to the firehose 400's

Most of the "bad" I've read has been for the Copies, 400 is a Gerotor Pump head on the Smaller Walbro Motor, really quiet in operation and feels very smooth while running, ANY other pump I've tried that have this sort of volume have been Coffee Grinders.. :(

Great pump, Don't forget to look at the flow rate chart to get a better idea of what your flowing at a certain psi.

Called and spoke with Jeff at Walbro Technical Support.
He seems to think i have air bubbles in my fuel filter and recommends a new fuel filter.
Im going to take his advice in the next few weeks.
New fuel filter, new strainer, clean tank good, constant 12V mod to pump and see what happens.
On my way to work today at 20psi(of boost) my AFR was a nice 11:1.
But he said if its still acting up then he can get me a new pump :) . I may try and squeeze a deal in with the Walbro 400 haha

Since this does pertain to the walbro 255, should the base FP be lowered on a 7mgte when switching to a walbro 255 vs the oem one? I mean lowered as in like 30-33 as opposed to 33-40 to try and help control the added flow?

no
set to factory pressure if no tuning device is used
