Code 51 is if IDL doesn't connect to E2, correct? Usually indicates that the TPS is maladjusted and doesn't come all the way back. If IDL is shorted to E2 permanently (How my TPS failed) then you don't get the code, you just get fuel cut cycling. I just disconnected the TPS (Setting code 51) for the time it took to go buy a TPS at the dealer, install and calibrate it.

I suppose that a really badly installed/calibrated TPS could cause the issue, if the prong is on the wrong side of the throttle actuator. This would also jam the throttle open slightly, probably enough to raise the idle too high, and leave the IDL connected to E2 on a perfectly good TPS. It might even sort of work for a while beforehand if the two parts were stuck together. Yeah, pretty far fetched. :D I have seen stranger things.
