ok so im wondering if a .68 housing is going to be to small for my 600+ WHP goal this year.

I just want to know if it will limit me up top or anything. i love the spool it has on my 6152 that i had on last year, and would like to keep my spool relitively quick.

Im askin about the housing on a 6765 that i will be getting to if that will help.

will be revving to arond 7500 rpm also.

Thanks

THat's going to be a small ar on that turbo. If you were going to run a 6266 then you would probably crack 600 with full supporting mods but not 7.

Well that's the housing that it comes with. And I just read somewhere on here that a guy made 630 whp at 25 psi with the same turbo and a .68 AR. I'm surprised it held up, but I guess I'm tryin it out.

Cause the spool with a .68 is nice. I have it on my 6152 that I'm
Selling now.

the only down fall to the 68 is rpm it will go to about 6700 then starts to die if you have cams

I miss my 68 vs my 81 but now I can rev to 7200 but boy did that 68 hit hard granted the 81 was sweet but lost torq

so i just going to add in quick spool vavle later down the road and solve my issues

It won't be too small, but it cause more backpressure and not be as efficient as a .82. I have seen old PT67's go over 700rwhp with a .68.

could have but didn't

if I remember right dunae old boy back in the day with simlur greddy trubo and a 46 and did 30 pounds and it was controllable, but was usieng a greddy exhaust manifold long runner not sure onthe controller he was usieng thou

and don did 600 some thing on the same manifold well on a 46 with a t70 useing a 68 avcr

ps the greddy long runner some what a copy of the egay manifold

I remember my hks evc 4 had issue controlling boost on my 57 trim ct26 and my buddie with an avcr had no issue's at all

goes to show you how nice of controler the apexi avcr is I thinks plus they have not changed it since 2002 or 2003 and still is one of the top leading boost controlers

This thread took an encouraging turn. I was expecting to struggle to get to 600 on the 6266 with a .68 and E85, but I really don't want to push the stock bottom end past that anyway. After it's built next winter and has higher compression I will swap for something bigger.

so what kind of wastegate are you talking about?

I think im just going to use the .68. I love the spool with it on my 6152, granted it is a smaller turbine, but i know that it helps a good deal.

6152 you will be fine with a 68 should be a nice mix really....

67,70 is about the max for 68 hot side useing a t based comp wheel

Well I have the 6152 with a .68 housing, but I'm going for power that's going to be out of its range.

So I'm going with a 67mm, and the one Im looking at has a .68 housing.

So I'm just wondering if it's going to make it or not.

Well I'll be getting a bigger wastegate now to.

Seems like I can do it with a little support for the .68.

you will be fine with 68 it just wonte rev that high and if your on the stock ecu then a 68 is golden I find

I truly love it's power band

that why I bought 68 in the first place because I had stock rev limt at the time

specs are
bc 272
mild ported head
stock vavles
pte 67 with a 68
tail 46 mill gate

I had fair amonte of heat but I blame that on my low timing map wiht good tune heat should be with in reason and nothing to worrrie about

have fun

here is my dyno grauph

awesome!! well i do want to revv up to 7 or a bit more.

Ill get it on the dyno with the .68 and see where it starts to fall off, then i ll just shift at that point until i feel the need to get a .81.

This is a 7mgte right?
I think with a .68 your egt will be getting pretty hot
You said its a stock bottom end?
Hope you dont run into any melting piston problems.

What cams are you running?
Stock cams @ 7500 would be funny

well first off, please excuse my lack of knowledge :) now im going to be running a a.r. 83. t3/t4. and my power goals are only 400. i have the correct supporting mods. my question is (and i think i already know it) is that size of turbo going to me way over kill? im on only going to be running about 11 to 12 lbs of boost. I.E i got a really good deal on this turbo so im hoping it will work, but i imagine i will be sacrificing a lot of torque for such a size as well as the time it will take this monster to spool up. should i sell it and get a smaller turbo? the turbo is a borg warner with the extended tip technology. they retail for about 700 new.
