20k is a reasonable price for a car of that caliber. Just because it's old doesn't mean anything, it's the shape it's in, no? Try building a car that nice, or shop around and see what you can get for 20k... a used Camry perhaps?

It would cost you at least double to build that from scratch. Probably triple. I've always been a fan of buying someone else's finished project - even if you inherit some problems, you'll still come out ahead.

This statement has lots of truth behind it, although if the owner isn't honest it could cost you much more then you realize.

That's no shit. Always always always run a carfax or autocheck on cars before you buy!
