I spent $1000 on a 95' civic ex i found a couple months ago. "Mods" are complete exhaust system replacement($220), chipped p28 ecu($75), battery($80), and stereo($120). It's primered grey. Clean title. 200k miles, needs a wheel stud and new struts. overall, more than $1000.
I found an 87' supra turbo, removable top, 5 speed. told the guy lets make a trade. only catch engine is "knocking":aigo:. The owner had a shop do some work: new head gasket, a.r.p. head studs, valves + a new alternator ect. to hopefully make the car run better. replaced those parts, 2500 dollars later drove it and eventually it started to knock.
i asked if i could look at the car and i liked it. everything besides the knock. he agreed to tow the supra to my place. im determined to have this thing running asap. he said it would turn on so i can hear the knock but i chose to not risk it to wait till its torn apart.
do you think it is worth the trade? and where should i start with this project? should i try to "re-build" this block? is it possible the head is damaged, too?
