i would put the CT26 back on, or WAIT if i were you. Those turbos are VERY prone to failure. They tend to have thrust failure which pushes the compressor wheel into the housing at which point the wheel looses all it's blades which end up in the intercooler or worse in the engine. Just a heads...
You forgot to mention the WHEEL SIZE ;)
The A/R depends on Wheels size. This is a HUGE FACTOR on the rest of the stuff. I was trying to explain myself, but was too busy being attacked.
I have read several of your threads and you seem like a Courteous person, but from what i have read:
Here's when a mod/admin steps in:
- Personal attack
- Using foul language to express your opinion
- Rude, uncalled for comments
- Talking crap in a for sale thread
Funny, it doesn't say...
This website is great as it offers alot of information for anyone interested in these great cars. I will never again though offer my opinion or experience on this website. Also, if i offended anyone unintentionally, i apologize.
Really??? His comment to me was not offensive? Ok I guess i don't see what i did wrong from the beginning? I made a suggestions and got told i was full of shit? Come on....
I notice you didn't offer any facts just opinions. talk about full of yourself. If you even bothered to look at our web page you would see our customers cars (not ours) that run 7 seconds. You start flaming with your opinion and offer NO FACTS just BULLSHIT as usual. And as usual only you know...
OMG, you are sooooooo full of yourself. AND Full of shit. All i know is our turbos make power and break records. You, talk shit and tell people they don't know what they are talking about when you are the one that doesn't know what they are talking about. You don't even know what Garrett makes...
Yea your right, only you know about turbos. have fun. I should have expected that much on this forum. BTW, how many race cars have you built turbos for???? Yea, i thought so. BTW, he asked about a GT40R not a GT42 for a 2JZ, which comes with a .85 A/R among others.
If you look at the precision...
.81 A/R S trim T4 turbine is tiny to you? Ok, i have seen several folks use a T3 .82 A/R "that comes standard on a GT35R" and they are very happy with it. In fact somebody on this board just make 600 RWHP on a 1JZ with a T3 .82 A/R Housing. BTW, i have a better one for you, build the Turbo for...
UMMMM "Custom" built turbo. BTW, we make turbos for 7second cars, and in fact the world record holder two rotor car, so unless you are running sixes in the quarter????
We have been using these turbos for years now and can tell you they are VERY reliable and take ALOT of beatings. We used these turbos on many rotary RACE cars running in the 7s using two steps and had VERY few failures running up to 60 PSI!!!!!!!! They spool FASTER than Garrett turbos and will...
We have a customer with a MKIV (cams, inj, AEM ) that we did a PT72 Custom with a .81 A/R S trim wheel. He is VERY happy with the response and power (he has made over 600 RWHP with it. Garrett rates the GT4088R up to 700 HP and i believe them. They typically UNDER rate their turbos. For...
If what you really want is response then for sure go with the .83 housing. It is a divided T4 turbine which will give you excellent power and good spool up.
