on start up i get a sumwhat heavy white smoke from the exhaust, then in a minuet or so it goes away and runs fine. there is no loss of power or n e thing in the engine, what would it be?

ok the ,y engine runs fine until it gets to 3000 rpm and then it feels like its hit a dead spot and wont rev any futher, but it operates perfectly fine until 3000. i think it could be A problem with my afm but im not sure, what are other things i should look into
an afm from a 90 turbo, if it sits for a day it will have the problem, but if i get it ideling right, it will start up and run fine even after i shut her down for an hour.
thanks thats probly the problem i keep throwning the battery out of my other car into it to start it up, i notice after a give it some gas it corrects it self. and is does stat up fine until i take out the battery,
