LOL
I still have to get my oil drain changed over to a braided hose - I actually discovered that it's leaking small drips of oil... Which then proceed to burn on the turbo manifold and make clouds of smoke come out from my bonnet.... :(
Good to hear! You've inspired me to get my valve stem seals replaced sooner rather than later (but I won't be doing it myself...)
Hopefully that'll fix my problem too!
I had the same thought that my turbo might be drowning in oil, so I called the manufacturer and he said I shouldn't have a restrictor in the braided line I got with my turbo - which is just how I have it set up (I think it's -4AN?). My current oil drain is far from ideal (crappy rubber oil hose...
I'm having the same problem as this and noticed that the port on the accordian hose that the PCV system links to has oil all around it, and the hose going to the PCV hardline is the same.
I was just gonna check those, didn't think to check the port on the TB! I'll check the entire system asap...
Fuel cut feels like you'd be driving along and you decided to smash the brake pedal to the floor for about half a second. Your engine pretty much dies for a second or two, and then you can keep driving.
I had it a few times before I did the upgrade...
I've been running it with my SAFC for...
I think you have a similar situation to me. I did the lex afm/550s upgrade and it's super lean up to ~3000rpm.
I tried my orginal AFM karman sensor and the one on the lex afm but both gave the same result.
I just added more fuel using my SAFC (around 20% more at idle...) and all is well :)...
I have the same problem (same setup too but 1" - 19mm reducer hose, 90 degree bend into accordian hose) but with an SSQV, so I'm keen to see how you fix this!
You will need to change a few sensors - can't remember which ones sorry - but yes. get the 87-88 harness and ecu, it makes things SOOO much easier. I went through the same process - 1990 engine in an 86.5 :)
It is possible to keep the grey ecu & harness but you'll need to do a fair bit of...
I havent had mine in there since day one of my engine swap (they vanished off my N/A motor :() and I've had no isssues whatsoever. Even on hot days -well, hot for here. probably not as hot as what you US boys can get.
what's the benefit of using say an aristo valve body?
I ordered the shift kit for my auto from MV automatics and they sent me one from a jza80 instead but it's in and working (with a bit of modifying). So is it better than the MA70 one?
Just to add to this, mine is a 3" pipe all the way from the turbo back, with only a rear muffler. Nothing else. It's not unbearably loud, but I might put a resonator on there to lower in-cabin noise a bit (can get annoying on the highway) and while driving through town it does sound quite loud...
I had the same thing happen - Lex afm istalled with my 550s but it ran mega-lean at low rpm and idle, while other people see it work just fine when they do they double swap. Have an SAFC now and that fixed the problem (although its now running mega-rich but meh, I'll fix it when I get my...
