JDM 7mgte's are pretty iffy.. I would do a teardown and rebuild of each one. I would rebuild your curent 7mgte, assuming you didnt send a rod through the block or something.
and yes, the ECU will match up with the harness. It is only specific to tranny (M/t, A/t).

yeah it will add power as long as its a nice intercooler. But You shouldnt be losing power. You should probably figure out the reasoning behind power loss before you blow your motor.

Mine's an '88 with a metal sunroof, I swapped it with glass last summer... The electronics are OEM.. but i think it was a dealer option. I've been told its really rare, but i'm not completely sure.
