    Diesel Turbo on 7M-GTE?

    holset is a smaller turbo designed to flow to a 5.9 liter NOT a turbo designed to flow an 11 liter motor. thats wht i based my info off of. I did not mean all turbos as I have plans in the works to run the holset. i apologize for any mis information though. And was intended as a GUIDE ONLY.

    When cold = full boost but no acceleration?

    I agree JJ. I still know of cars that limit power but see full boost just to prevent the motor from cracking by being pushed too hard when eveyrthing is still cold. Hell even old school cars had this problem with the carbs. Kick off the choke when the cars still cold it would cut off fuel supply.

    Gaboon is correct. Diesels flow a buttload more air than gas motors. Plus you need to look at VE same as dumbo said. A CT-26 flowing 13 psi would be like that turbo maybe maybe pushing 1psi. And also the fact that diesels have no throttle plate there for no blow off valves there boost is...

    7MGE running on 7MGTE electronics NO TURBO

    no nitroglycerin here. Or n2o either. Just straight boost this time. It was a sopmewhat tired and old bottom end so it was its time to go. But new build and hopefully more power to come..... just waitin on some money to burn a hole in my wallet to start this build off is all.

    Thanks man and yeah I really did. Tore into it today and wow, just WOW!!!!!! Iv'e seen small block chevy's let go and even a couple big blocks but this one takes the cake I think. Its bad so far. Most of the bearings are trashed and the bent vlve ended up nicking the head......Yeah $$$$ is right

    Well all it finally happened after 6 glorious months of driving with the ONLY BAR and CA approved NA-T swap:evil2:. The wastegate actuator line blew off and I overboosted:cry:. Not very forgiving for a small tune and stock HG. So the car blew on August 7, 2008. I finally just got some time...

    Ok do what J Dub says and also with your DDP thats another problem i ran into. I put the stock dp on with the stock pre-cat and passed with flying colors. Another route if the plugs and wires and checkin for leaks just in case it still fails. If your running only one cat with old plugs...

    Am I looking at signs of bad turbo seal?

    From what I went through when my turbo blew out, under normal acceleration it would be fine, however once I hit boost it was an instant smoke screen. And it was stupidl thick thick lingering white smoke. Did all the above mentioned tests and found nothing. Replaced the turbo and bingo no more...
