So I was digging through my buddies left over RX7 parts and ran across his sparkplugs. From how he described operation, and its appearance, it seems to me they would provide more complete and even combustion, especially in a piston motor like ours. I'm just curious if anyone here has ever tried...

Other than the dealer, maybe try some of the off-road suppliers, though they may not have something small enough for our cars.

I'm looking to do something similar. Have you given any thought to replacing the tach and speedo? Also has anyone ever tried making complete custom clusters (PCBs, gauges, etc) that are direct fit for ours?

I too am mapping out the main engine harness, and will eventually be progressing into each harness on the car as I rebuild them. Any specific questions about plugs, locations, wire color, etc, I may be able to provide assistance. Suprarx7nut, perhaps we should compare notes at some point and see...

Personally, I'd hone all the bores, inspect everything carefully and replace only as needed. (exception: I'd replace all the rings since I'm in the motor anyway)

The r154 is a stock rebuild with the MC thrust washer. Otherwise I left it alone and just replaced the synchros and bearings. The pistons are JE 83.5mm pistons. 292gram aluminum forged.

Would be 91for DD, and have a second fuel cell mounted with 103 for walking mustangs that like to sound beefy. I have also seen that thread, and based almost all of my math off it, with a few mods to the formulas to make up for what I'm aiming at. I've calculated between 950 and 1050cc. To me...

So school is finally starting up again, and this semester I should be dropping my motor in and swapping the a340e out for my r154 (freshly built). Will be updating this many times over the next few months as it gets going.

I've searched high and low, and found many very helpful answers, but I still find myself trippin' over my choice here. All of my math, formulas, and everything point to NO, but something in my head keeps telling me I can make my 550rwhp with a smaller set and get at least a little better gas...

So shortly after getting her running, she developed a rod knock. So the bottom end has come out and I'm working on that now.

Experience? Proof? I would typically agree with you, but I'm being bland enough its not specifically any car. I agree though, a car tattoo now, does not mean you will have the car forever.
