Man this is messed up lol because after letting it run for a while it runs back at normal of 750 rpm and its fully responsive like it should be when running normal but its still giving me code 31 could it be that my map sensor is screwed and working when it wants to or could maybe a vaccum leak...
ok well i disconnected battery and main fuse to totally reset ecu and put evrything back together and now were back at scratch one with code 31 but now it has really low idle at around 500 when usually it was at 750.
Well now i'm totally confused because i removed that sensor cleaned it up all nice like you said and put it back it removed main fuse to reset codes put it back and started it and now its giving me the codes 13, 24 and 31 but it runs good now?? like no hesitation in throttle response like it was...
Which one of these would be the air temp sensor and if it isn't any of these let me know which is it closest too. And thanks for the help because i've had this issue for about 2 months and posted many times about this issue and that was the only helpful info i've gotten even if it ends up not...
I'm trying to figure out what could be the issue with my 1j because it is giving me the code 31 meaning air flow meter and can't figure out how to resolve this code but i've come down to maybe the map sensor but I was wondering whats the difference between the map against the fire wall and the...
In a similar situation what would it mean if its only the code 31 but engine still runs but when stepping on gas pedal quickly it hesitates a lot and will only go higher rpms if you slowly step on gas pedal. Clearly its running rich as hell but what should i be checking out because i know that...
I removed the air filter stuck the pressurizing kit on it and pumped it up and it started to leak really bad from the valve cover and two of the I/C piping couplers. And there is a hose attached cirectly to the valve covers from the intake piping so that how it also got pressured.
my valve cover is leaking really bad when i do boost leak test could this possibly be causing my code 31 on my 1jz because i'm pretty sure they dont have afm's.
With all the internet/forum searching it came down to the diagnosis of the map sensor being faulty and i have ordered a brand new in the box map sensor from toyota it ran me about 414$ CAD really pricey but i rather now i'm getting some new that won't break till the rest of the life of the car...
ok well keeping with the issue of this problem today I unplugged both sensors marked (sensor assy, turbo pressure) while engine was running and it didn't change rpm rate or anything so would this mean that they are both shot? or would they not change anything if unplugged while running.
It is a possibilty that the plugs are filed right down from just letting it idle for long periods of time. And for the 1jz i've never had an issue starting it in cold weather because our winters over here go as low as -50 Celcius at worst and even in a garage the temp is -30 but can you still...
This is the exact same problem i am having with mine but except mine flashed the code 31 so it told me that it was my map sensor so i will be replacing those and i just replaced the plugs with ngk 6097's and it ran but black smoke just pouring out so will let you know how it goes with replacing...
thx will let you guys know what happens after checking all sensors on monday. And I already checked both the boost pressure sensors, the one on the firewall and also the one buy the fuse box in engine bay.
