Drove my supra the other day...it started smoking. I thought my car was going to catch fire. Found out one of the rear coolant lines has a small hole in it and was steaming off the back of the head.
Put the new wheels on and now i just have to fix the line and setup the tru boost.
Almost there!!
The head machining isn't whats going to cost you, its the work to get the head off (if you're having a shop do all of it). I did the work my self and a hot tank and machining cost about $40 (don't quote me on that).
You can use a stock headgasket up to a certain point of modding, it all...
Is it a 300 or 400? sc300 dislikes: crappy differential, needs turbo, and needs manual trans. Don't get me wrong, I love the 2jz, but with something weighing almost as much as a mini-van, it needs a bit more.
I've got a blue turbo '88 sitting in the garage. Engine bay is stripped. Has LSD, r154 with short shifter...pretty much I have a plethra of parts that were in the car.
Thanks everyone for the help. Shaeff--The CPS was out. Thanks for the hand.
Its awesome to see this supra up and running. I took it for a test drive with the targa off and....wow.
Now I just need to get the title and put the rest of the exhaust on.
Sorry. I replaced the head gasket and all other reachable gaskets when taking off the head. Put in a new head because the old one was cracked. Right now the td06 turbo is installed.
I checked and rechecked all the plugs and vacuum hoses.
I can try and post a video of the engine trying to...
Thanks, I checked all the pipes and tightened the connectors a bit. Still an issue...There is sometimes also a deep "clunking" type noise from the right side.
I am about ready to get my supra up and running....except for this plug. I tried looking through the cygnus website but I cannot pin point which one it is.
Any help would be nice.
UPDATE:
Found where plug goes. Thanks for the help.
Now to the starting issue...
The engine will roll...
