I don't understand how changing the damned spark plugs and gapping them to spec can make the car miss. The Denso's had been in there prolly for 4 or 5 years and never had any problems. They were all gapped between .035 and .041. I'm gonna change my wires and change my spark plugs again this time...
I'm having same problems you are. Was told to change brand of spark plugs. I still have the same problem. Thinking about going back to the type of spark plugs that came out of it when it was running good instead of NGK's. Good Luck.
Thank you jdub. Should I just get the plugs that a cross reference tells me to get or is there a specific number that works well such as 3923. Is gapping them at .029 a good idea or should I just follow TSRM specs?
Well the other day I changed my Plugs and my oil. When I took the old plugs out 5 and 6 had oil in the gallies (valve cover seals leak). I soaked as much of it up as I could before I took the plug out. I then put in Autolite 3923's gapped to .029. Of course there was smoke on startup due to the...
I to am thinking of doing a side exhaust. I've only heard of it in a couple of cases on supras. Never really seen one with it done. The pics above look ok. I don't see a side exhaust as ricey. Just different; that apparently not alot of people in the supra community have done. Maybe noise was a...
Sorry to bring up old threads but I was wondering what kind of Tranny you are using for your two step. Did you get a rebuilt one or an Aftermarket one?
Well after a little more searching I found the entire Breakdown map for the hose I'm looking at. 16283 is the Part Number. It looks like I can see the heat sheild your talking about. I'll check to see if I have that or not. I don't recall seeing it but I was in such a hurry I didn't really look...
The hose I'm talking about can be seen here I have it circled. In red it's by the P/S Res the lower one. This may be the one previously attached but I couldn't really see much where the shot was taken from. So sorry if it is the same hose. BTW not my engine. I haven't had time to take any pics...
Umm.... I guess not. The first time I took everything apart there wasn't anything there. So I'm guessing when the previous owner had to replace it they didn't put the heat sheild back in. My parts car didn't have one either. Are we talking about the same thing? I'll post up pics to clarify. But...
Toyota hose. I figured they had to have some type of pressure rating on it. I know that pulling out the intake and moving the powersteering bracket is really getting under my skin. I'd weld a piece of aluminum or metal in there if I thought I could do it just so I don't have to worry about it...
There is a hose that runs from the back of the thermostat into a line that goes what looks like across the front of the engine. Not sure exactly but I hope someone knows what I'm talking about. It's about 4 inches long and has a 90 degree bend in it. Well it has blowed off my car twice or should...
I know exactly how you feel. I try not to talk to anyone about my car. It's always mistaked for a 240sx or a Ford Probe. I get extremely pissed when it's mistaked for either. Course I'm the only one around that Drives a Mark III.
That I'm not real sure on. From what I understand it makes the Solenoid Work at a larger duty cycle. Duty cycle as in more boost flowing through it? I don't know that I take a full understanding of it other than it flows more boost. I guess it opens the solenoid more to allow more boost pressure...
