Who put stock 2jz cams into the 1jz?

I'm saying these were 2 runs without 2jz cams, just the stock 1jz cams with some safc tuning in between. So the numbers I've seen here on 2jz cams with stock twins are lower than this.

    Are my cams any good?

Did you perform a compression test before you took it apart? Have the cylinders honed and the bearings checked, a decent motorshop should be able to get the rings you need. Do not use new stock toyota rings, they are too soft for an aftermarket homing pattern; they wear too much. But what...

    vacum leak? Charcoal Canister ??

Just ditch the CC and route the line to the lefthand under the car, it will improve your emissiontest and clean up the engine bay.

    Are my cams any good?

It has been running quite rich looking at the coal build-up... Just clean up the head, replace the stemseals and it's ok. The bottom end is the same as the top of the head; needed more oil changes and lots of oil build-up. What are your plans with it?

Who put stock 2jz cams into the 1jz?

Don't want to put down anyone, but I'm not really impressed by the 2jz cams numbers. Here's a dyno I did 2 years ago on stock twins, stock cams, no cam gears. Upgrades are: 550's, SAFC, A-VCR, 2.5" exhaust, Skyline IC To translate: 'vermogen' = power in hp, 'koppel' = torque in Nm, the 438Nm...

    Who is running an e-fan

Yes, you're right about the hydro fan having regulated speed, but it doesn't move as much air when your engine is idling as two e-fans, the oil pressure is simply too low to generate enough power to spin the hydro fan fast. No one over here is running the hydro fan, we all ditch it because...

    Who is running an e-fan

:biglaugh: thanks! Do you people over there also have these reversed-cap-wearing dipshits driving a VW Golf (I think you call them Rabbit?) or Honda's with this sticker on their rear window? They're sooooooo sad!

    Who is running an e-fan

Why? The clutch or hydro work opposite of what you need > they only cool well when you're at speed: when you don't need it. They cool worse when at slow speed or stop-go traffic: when you do need the fans. E-fans work only when you need them. And why install bits and pieces that are allready...

    Are my cams any good?

Read the TSRM on how to take the cam's off. It comes down to taking all brackets off but #3 and #7. Then uniformly loosen these last two brackets. First check the TSRM because the cams need to be in a certain position. Be carefull, you will not be the first to break a cam when not doing it...

    Who is running an e-fan

If you have A/C in your car, you can use one of the two wires that switch the two small stock fans. Works perfectly, I have this set-up for over 5 years, never failed. I run dual e-fans. If you don't have A/C you won't have the two small fans and also not the wiring + switch.

Difference 1jz and 2jz headgasket *pics*

Wow, didn't look for a few days and this topic is starting to look like the 1jz vs 2jz head flow. Anywayz. A few things I have noticed: - the 1jz headgasket is brand new, fresh from toyota. If the design was inferiour they would have changed it, like you see with the differences between the...

twin turbo....what do you guyz reconmend?

@kaifiji, what are your hp goals? If you stay near stock hp > stay sequential, nice early spool. If you wanna get the most out of the stock twins > go true twin; you will need to tweak the engine with some sort of management to get up to the hp goal and the sequential system is a pain to tune...
