    Auto tranny problem (A340E)

Test the TPS. A 'flat spot' on the contacts will cause this exact issue.

Does this supra look like its worth it?

Doesnt look to be to bad of a project for $800. Even a worse case scenario is you can part it out for a profit.

recommendations for a good water pump/timng belt.

I use belts and hoses from Gates and have never had a problem with them. Gates has moved on to manufacture water pumps that again I am not seeing any issues with.

    Brakes pads?

My rule for AZ is, anything I have to ask for I dont need. There are very few exceptions to that rule. AZ is great for oils, anti-freeze, Perma-tex and wiper blades. Everything else, for the most part, your getting what you pay for.

    Brakes pads?

I havent found a ceramic for the rear of our cars yet. A qaulity semi-metalic does very well on the back and doesnt produce much dust. I cannot comment on Advance brakes as I have never used them before. I have had issues with AZ pads in the past.

Nothing if you have to ask for it.

    Brakes pads?

Either the SS ceramic line of pads from NAPA or the Thermo Quiet from O'Reily's. Both are great stock performing pads.

    Wiper Problems

I would suspect the switch or relay since they come on in the wash position. http://www.cygnusx1.net/Supra/Library/TSRM/MK3/manual.aspx?S=BE&P=31

    Bent Frames

Sounds like he had a Supra confused with a Firebird. I say this because people have accused my car of being a Firebird before.

True, but the vise grips are most likely already paid for.

What in the hell have I gotten myself into?

Congratulations Ken. Glad to hear you finally got it cranked up. What was the starter problem BTW? Also, a pair of vise grips locked onto the hood struts work wonders.

    Aftermarket gauges in cluster

QFT!! Also the type and style of gauge is a factor of the diffculty level. I will say you should be proficient with a Dremel and heat gun.

    MSD

That was really cruel. True but cruel. Did I mention funny also?

    Aftermarket gauges in cluster

It really all depends on the actual guage you are using. I think I spent about 20 hours fitting water temp and oil pressure gauges into mine.
