I would highly advise putting your temp probe into the factory location to monitor your temps more consistantly. You are taking a measurement after the t-stat and that could be really bad in case of t-stat or water pump failure.
Without a fan shroud you will see higher temps of ~10-20°.
Since noone else has stated the obvious, until you do some more inspecting to it, nobody can tell what direction to go in. For all we know you have a straight 6 boat anchor sitting in a Supra.
If you drove 30 miles with a noticeable coolant leak you have major problems. I would venture to guess that your fan and shroud were broken when your water pump bearing failed dropping a spinning fan into radiator. Most likely at this point you need an engine.
Not picking on you, just using your quote as you were the first one to post this.
My question is why in the hell anyone would think it a good idea to use a relay to trigger a relay in the starter circuit? Did anyone even think this one through? Seems to me it would be easier to perform a...
Everytime I read about a swap involving different year harnesses I read about problems. Main problem is the headlights dont work properly. Seems like there were other problems but I dont remember tham right off. I considered trying to figure out the issue as 89+ harness are easily found in...
Another vote against the Dorman plugs. The QC used to determine size is just plain non-existant. Find Clevite or Sealed Power brand freeze plugs at NAPA or Carquest or go back to Toyota for them. I prefer to use no sealant but have seen others have great success with it as well.
I just pulled my engine last night due to BHG. Was planning on some upgrades this month that required pulling both manifolds so it is all working out. I am hoping to have it back together mid-late Feb.
After reading both threads it seems like someone fell victim to laziness. The only reference I can find about a dead ECU in the other thread is first from liftedtoy97 in post #5. Just because that is the last step in a flow chart and it looks the easiest doesnt mean that must be what it is...
After many setbacks delays and laziness, I now know why water leaks in my car. The good news is it isnt my targa. At least not anymore. The windsheild seal however is totally blown. The water comes in at windsheild and falls into the trim peice between top and windsheild. The front lip is...
