JB Weld holds well enough in many applications... personally, though, I'd just tack it in place with a couple welds. You could probably get someone at an exhaust shop to do it for the cost of a tube of JB Weld and it'll definitely hold.

The reason for the difference is that it's from a Cressida and not a Supra. Different cross member = different oil pan and oil pump.

Replace it with a Supra oil pan. This happens often enough and I believe it's usually because the replacement motor is not from a Supra. Personally, I'd recommend replacing the oil pump while you're at it.
