Unfortunately, that's how all of the aftermarket assemblies I've seen work. For it to function differently you'd probably need to build a different kind of latching system for the door.
I'm still thinking that one of these days I might just get a set of these... I only want them from a...
My recommendation would be to compare the oil pans first. Then start taking pictures, of the coolant hose routing, the vacuum routing and wiring. Keep taking as you go deeper. This will help if you end up have to mix and match parts.
Junior's right, if you are planning on keeping it smog...
From what I've read and understand, the difference isn't unlike just switching over to some real nice high performance plug wires and finding the *right* octane gas for your driving habits.
A "fatter" spark, doesn't guarantee a cleaner, more complete burn... a longer spark duration doesn't...
Except for the fact that when the officer radios it in and they send four or five other cars out to circle like sharks they'll spot you like bait.
Might want to stay the night at your friend's house... with the car in his garage.
I agree with Roy, head and block prep is extremely important. Especially on engines as old as ours. I really don't think it's possible to get away from that requirement.
So, while I'm interested, I do have my reservations. However, I think I've got a good setup to try one out on. My head is...
Oh damn! Dead on! It always did remind me of something I couldn't put my finger on! Now I remember! It was a high school friend's half finished, body kit from hell, Fiero!!! Ack!

That page is the one you want.
If you look at the "bolt" you'll see the top is open where it goes into the bell or main body. Don't forget the copper O-ring. And make sure it goes all the way past the square part of the threaded...
Do whatever you like. ;) As far as I know there is no performance gain to be had from it at all. Our resonators aren't designed like most of those that cause restriction. If anything I suspect they'd help buffer the lag induced by the N/A "flapper" AFM. Any difference would be way too small for...
As long as they haven't been replaced, they alternate.
The rear banjo is held on with the Fuel Pressure Damper... it looks like the FPR, but smaller with a plastic cap and no vac line.
The middle line goes to the cold start injector... it's on the upper intake manifold.
As for hose diagrams, the ones out of the EPC are a start, but they're not great:

Is the bigger one the old crank seal? Is there a part number on it? Given the size difference I can't help but wonder if you didn't get the seal for the oil pump drive instead.
Do you have the part number for the new seal you've got there?
These guys aren't new to the game. While they are new to the 7M, I'm sure they've spent more than enough on R&D to have a damned good idea what they're doing. Although the only way we'll know for sure is if we can get our hands on one. They do seem to be a fairly popular choice for other...
Whether or not this should be common sense alot of people do it all the time.
I'm paranoid. I keep the jack under the car, still up and touching the car. Not because it'll keep the car from coming down, but because it'll make lifting the car that much quicker for whoever's helping me at the...
Damn man, if you don't have a stand either wait or at least get the wheel you just took off under the frame.
Yes, it's a terribly stupid thing to do. Yes, it could have ended up alot worse. Yes, other people do this all the time... hopefully a few of them will learn from this as well.
Okay, I wanna see the inspiration. I need a preview of what you're going for here.
Also, I'm not sure I'd put the MAF on top of the engine. Just make sure they're not susceptible to heat soak issues.
Aside from that I love seeing those monster MAFs...
yup, sometimes it's the "circus tent" or the "hampster wheel" (didn't ever really see that one myself) or the "air filter light" (still don't get that one either)...
I had a helluva time explaining what light I was talking about when I got my MKIII over a year ago... then I found an online...
Allow me to jump back in time about 15 posts...
My car's got straight 2.5" pipe, up to where the muffler used to be. It's horrible. The resonance is vibrating bolts loose.
There is a gain in responsiveness and pickup across the board, but I doubt I'll be loosing any of it when I put in a...
