Most of the problems I have had so far have been age related and not really based on how it was driven. I mean it is a 21 year old car that sat for two years before I got it.
It has gone through a bunch of small parts that add up. It now sits in front of my house with a terrible case of rod...
I just will not be able to shell out anymore cash once this lot is gone.
But I agree that the harness is a little excessive, I will put it in the only if there is anything left over pile.
I would like to try to do some of the labor my self but since it is/was my DD I can’t afford to make a...
For those who do not know me I am franco.
So I have kind of hit a fork in the road. I was planning on rebuilding my motor after the first one started a knock'in and even bought a second to make it easier. But now I am not sure what to do.
I need something that is reliable and hopefully...
Sorry I was thinking ATI but somehow hit 'H'
And that is an amazing price for the rods but it will be a bit befor I start buying all this.
Have to make the money before I spend it... kidding ill just spend the banks money lol
I will have two stock turbos so I will use one of them for now as I do have a budget. Even though I am only figuring out what it is now I’m going to wait on the turbo. And I will consider the HTI balancer but will likely wait till later for this as well.
Oh and I want to get rid of the...
Psht. oem is for the weak
I’m not going to get the block and head decked and cheap out on the head gasket.
100% metal.
Thanks for looking out though.
That v8 valve spring set up must be good when the first two post mention it.
It is a 87 with blown rings but comes with everything. It's a good deal for what I am paying for it.
It is time for this Canadian boy and his supra to get a new motor.
A wile ago I posted up a video if my car running to see what was wrong with it.
People said not to assume it is a rod knock and check everything. Well it was a rod knock but I still appreciated the help anyway.
So I have a...
Don't worry I'm not planning on driving it until I can figure out what this is.
I already had to replace the bottom cam gear once so I hope it's not that again.
And the knocking is a bit louder in person but if it was a valve it wouldn't stop on deceleration would it?
I have no idea what it is and it sounds terrible.
It makes a grinding/ticking noise at 3k rpm and above but not on deceleration.
Still makes the noise under no load conditions just not as loud.
Cant really feel any vibrations wile driving but can still hear it.
And there is blue smoke...
Where can you get a n/a supra for $8k??
I would love to find one up here in Canada it would save me trouble of shipping.
