+1 for pics of the mounting bracket.
If you do it the way shown here, no they only open half way.
You could do it the way the 240z drift kidz do and wire in a switch to stop the lights half way up, but the your headlights point at the ground.. Like this...
Got to love a smoooth 7M. How much did the machine shop end up taking off the block?
Heat will be your friend for this. Get yourself a heat gun/blow dryer or better yet a steamer. If you get it nice and hot the glue will come off with it, so you don't have to go over it with a razor and ruin...
I put a deposit down on a few parts (replacement seats, new taillights and ect.) Bought them from a 'local' but won't be picking them for a month or two because he is actually 3 hours away.
There was another thread like this not long ago but I can't find it now.
But came across this http://www.supramania.com/forums/showthread.php?116525-7M-Engine-Harness-Connectors
Same location as the stock exhaust, it will only sit like an 1.5" lower then stock. Just take it easy over those speed bumps and it will be fine.
Just think, half the cars on these forums have 3" exhaust and some have bigger. So I'm not sure what's to worry about.

Lots of info to be found http://www.supramania.com/forums/showthread.php?38780-MAFT-Pro-thread-listing
Hopefully you can find someone local to give you a helping had too.
This will get you started http://www.suprastore.com/stivimk3tu7m.html
Basically, start with routine maintenance. And look into re-torquing the head ASAP.
Then get yourself a 3" exhaust and a proper down pipe before turning up the boost a bit.
If that isn't enough, replace your mas air...
First things first, drain the gas and fill it up with new stuff. Follow up with an oil change and new belts. Inspect the rad hoses and vacume lines for any cracks. Charge the battery, fire it up and check for leaks!
I know my old car sat for a while before i bought it but not sure how long...
