You might be a 1J owner if.....

When you decide that 3k is a worthwhile price for a molestered 1JZ, when for the same money you can do your 7M up properly and make MORE POWER AND TORQUE RELIABLY... When you claim that wikipedia says the 1JZ has more power and torque from factory, and fail to realise it's coz they have had to...

    --Golli's MA71 build

Well, I'm really in the shit at the moment. Yesterday I checked the components of the head against the specs stated in the TSRM. Visually, you can see that the 2nd and 3rd journal surfaces of both camshafts are toast. Same with the cam caps. However, the the journal section on the head is...

    The Pacific Peso

I'm loving how good the aussie dollar is at the moment as i've got quite a few things I'm looking to get shipped over. Just hoping it lasts so I can get everything at the good exchange rate. As for the pound. fantastic for us, crap for them. My sisters boyfriend is from wales and has come over...

Yeah, after a discussion with my father, I think that would probably be a better way to go. I've decided that I'll just stay with the OEM headgasket, so bolts will probably do. I already miss driving the car and its not even a week... I can't imagine what it would be like for you or Ian. I...

You're a winner Dan... signature edited. :biglaugh: Fitting I spose as I check your build thread quite often. Was sorta hoping that someone would tell me I had a MHG, was just a weird way to put out a noobie question. This isn't the motor that came with the car from factory. Guessing a...

Sooo... this is how the car looks at the moment... Parts pile... Followed the TSRM and got it like this today. Tomorrow I'll be following one of the guides on here to get the head off, whether I get that far, I don't know. The girl and I have a BBQ tonight and a sleep in tomorrow would...

I purcahsed this car in October 2008, from a private seller across town. It's a '91 Australian sold MA71. When I got it, it was stock besides a 3inch dump pipe and a turbosmart dual stage boost controller. The first thing I did was replace the stock BOV (which was leaking) to a HKS SSQV. I had...

    spiller's JZA70 build-up

    here's a broke sub frame.

I've seen the rears crack around the mounts for the diff, but never there! Definately did a good job of it. What are your plans for reinforcement?? EDIT: I was looking at the last pic when I tried to work out which subframe it was... Had I looked at the first one, I wouldn't have asked such a...

    MkIV brakes on MkIII

fair enough, looks like I need to figure out another way. I was actually talking to a mate last night about putting the A80 hubs on there. what sort of problems would that entail. As for BBK, look at my location. There is no point getting a BBK in the US and shipping it across as by the time...

    MkIV brakes on MkIII

Don't take my word on it, as I'm still doing a little bit of research on wether this would work. As far as I know, the rear calipers bolt straight on. The fronts however need an adaptor (nightpaper for example) As for disks, the Nissan 350z track rotors will bolt straight on, no extra work...

    Questions about the TEMS system...

As far as I know, it's in the boot of the cargo area, passanger side. Photos attached, just keep in mind I RHD as I'm from down under, but it will still be on your passanger side. TSRM says this is the only place it is... For those that don't want to wait around for a HKS controller, jumping...
