ok guys so to get back on track here I got the hks ssqbov installed, sounds awesome, my concern is that its my only mod and ive heard without the lil couple thing i could run rich and it could negatively impact my gas mileage, are their more precautions i should take?
bought mine for 4300 on craigslist, asked if it had a BHG, he said no, i was too excited to give a thorough check, paid another 1200 for HG job among other things
hey, for the first time I feel like I can actually be the helper:
replace both master and slave cyl, buy that shit from driftmotion, its 100 bucks for both
i had the same problem and now im golden!
gluck
touche,
well how bout you jetjock you seem to be a self proclaimed resident expert, pretend you were my mechanic, whast the first thing u would look for?
So, I dont know if any of you guys saw my last post on my lack of acceleration and by lack i mean almost non existant
My first concern was a vacuum or boost leak but I got it smoke tested at a reputable garage and they said the problem could be from a worn stock BOV?
Can someone let me...
Ok and the receipt reads and I quote
"Found no signs of vac. leak or external boost leak. Boost leak most possibly caused by factory B.O.V. due to being aged and worn causing internal leak"
It was the BOV eh?
Well I guess Ill go buy the HKS copy off driftmotion for $65?
Thoughts?
Help?!?!
i have less than 1000 miles on a brand new toyota oem composite HG so I dont think its a BHG
imma take it to autosport garage this week hopefully, I think it was either here or SF where I saw them recommended
by the way, heres to paying $51.03 to fill my fuckin tank...
Hey I'm jus wondering, I'm totally stock right now, and I've read through the staged guides for modding the mk3 starting with the air filter ands tuff like that.
my question :
what mods ( if any ) can actually improve reliability and possibly fuel economy?
Ok jus so it doesnt seem like this wasnt resolved :
I popped the hood and realized the clamp for one of the radiator hoses was barely tightened, it was dripping coolant, a quick tighten and i am now golden, thanks for the help guys
ok I will try that, I'm not too sure what to look for when u say vacuum lines, but from what i can tell theres no cracks in any of the rubber hoses.
also, thanks so much for that makeshift method on checking codes with a paperclip it worked great and threw no codes
still hoping to figure this...
