Wow! The space shuttle!! Wait a minute....

That's a suprise... they actually got that thing to fly. We've known about it since the 80's when they were doing their piggy-back tests on their version of the Boeing, but they had never gotten past the first testing stage. Amazing to see they did get it off the ground.

It's 19XX - Where were you when your Supra was made?

Now that's a pretty good spread. Some that haven't been born yet, some that were of various school ages, and some that were in college or starting life. It's pretty cool how this particular model car gets the attention of so many age groups.

    What to upgrade next?

Hold up a sec. If you have enough money for a new turbo, why wouldn't you do the MHG first? That doesn't make sense. Let's start with this. This is from what I've read the best guidebook on what you need to do to get a reliably fast car going...

    What to upgrade next?

Head gaskets blow, but for a myriad of reasons. One of the most common ways to get a BHG is by pushing too much boost through the turbo and into the engine. Another is not running things cool enough. And still another is improper air flow, worn factory parts, etc... If you insist on...

    fog light question

I would think heat would come into play as well. Since some bulbs generate a fair amount of heat, you'd have to be careful with the plastics, insulation, and internal wiring when popping replacements in. You wouldn't want to melt the housing on your dash, markers, etc, because the shiny new bulb...

It's 19XX - Where were you when your Supra was made?

Just kinda curious what everybody was doing when their model year Supra hit the road with less than 10mi. (km?) on the odometer. In 1988, I was in my first year of college at VCU pirating Commodore 64/128 games, panicking about my Differential Math class <ugh!!> , programming in Pascal on the...

    fog light question

Yup, had forgotten the name of the author but knew it was out there, thanks. That writeup has the headlamps, but not the taillamps, spoiler LED, side markers, turn signals, and other exterior lighting included.

    What to upgrade next?

I know I'm a newbie, but I would imagine replacing a head gasket is far better than sitting on a timebomb with the other. Remember that cracked heads, warped block, and other nasty stuff can happen with an engine that BHG's, so preventative maintenance after you've already sunk in the go-fast...

    fog light question

You know what I'd like to see? An actual list of bulbs by code and SuperLED's replacement bulbs beside them. For ALL lights on the Supra. If there was a list by bulb then you could pick and choose what bulbs you wanted to replace, like dash lighting (I know, good thing there's a tech page on...

    Questions about the TEMS system...

Tokico Illumina II's are the only aftermarket ones I think. If you do decide to keep the TEMS and get Tokico's, think about redoing your springs with Eibachs or H&R's. This should really improve your suspension in a big way.

    #@#*($@ Craigslist nailed me.

Yup, got mine through Craigslist, but wait til you get to the For Sale/Wanted sections. You'll be buying parts from there like a madman.

    Questions about the TEMS system...

Question: Does anyone have a pic of the TEMS computer as to where it's located? I've heard it's either behind the passenger side seat in the cargo area or up front in the passenger side kicker panel below the ECU. I've got my HKS TEMS controller and am gearing up to install it, but not sure what...

    Climate Control Led Mod?

Yeah, I've actually printed that off for use later on, especially for the gauge clusters that I don't have to solder. But I'd like the climate controls done as well, and that's my hangup there. It ain't plug-and-play like the dash is, so I'd need that soldering skill I don't have to do it.

    I find it somewhat sad...

Do yourself a huge life-favor. Get a college degree, ANY degree. I don't care if it's Sketch Drawing the Nude or Costa Rican Economics, GET A DEGREE IN SOMETHING, PREFERRABLY SOMETHING YOU LIKE. Why? Companies hire grads faster than they do dropouts, and hire dropouts faster than unattendeds...

    Climate Control Led Mod?

I can't solder worth a darn. How much would you charge Justin? I know my buttons are sticky as well, would opening it up and doing the mod help to correct that problem as well? Like clear out any crap around the contacts?

    I find it somewhat sad...

You know what? The 7th was a turning point for me as well. I don't know if I was the slacker there or the school had it in for me, but when I hit the 7th grade I had a problem with everything. English, Math, Biology, Sociology, PE, EVERYTHING. I had been bullied the year before and dreaded even...
