The strange thing is only the fitting is melted the rest of the cable shows no signs of heat. I am thinking the PO took a torch to it or something at some point ha.
Ok though, thanks for the input and crushing my hopes of fixing this one ;) . I will get a heat sleeve for the new cable.
Yea thats where I got my lower cable and would buy the longer one from him as well. Just like I said, I hate to toss a good cable just because a fitting. The rest of the cable is fine...
The fitting for my upper to lower speedo cable looks like it melted, its a brass glob now. When I went to remove it it of course just fell off the cable entirely.
Can that fitting be replaced or is the cable junk now? I hate to have to replace the entire upper part being just the fitting is...
I wouldn't remove my wipers but also I can say I haven't drove in the rain with the supra in many years. I also don't have the sprayers to clean the windshield with so for me the wipers haven't been turned on in years.
I still replace the blades on a schedule in case I do ever get caught in the...
I wish someone could post a pic of the various brackets to be certain. Or, someone who has actually done it. Mine test fitting was fine with the bell housing only who knows what will happen with I go to bolt the trans up. I'm hoping for the best, all the auto to 5speed swap tutorials I've read...
As far as I can tell(swapping auto to r154 now) the driver side is different. I test fit with the old auto passenger side and it bolted up fine. I did have to loosen the wing motor bolts to get the wings to align on both sides.
I kept saying I was going to order and save money but kept putting it off so I paid like $4 more per bottle at a local shop.
Summit racing has it though pretty cheap if you can wait adn order it.
Otherwise, ask redline where the nearest dealer is.

I don't know how the wing bracket snapped though. I mean, once mine was tightened on the bell housing the engine side still had some wiggle room. Once the engine side was tight it didn't budge anywhere. I just don't want to torque mine down only to snap one...
I just did a quick test fit with my r154 bellhousing, r154 specific driver side wing and na auto passenger wing. It didn't want to line up at first and I was a bit upset.
Then, I remember reading somewhere that you have to tighten the trans side then the engine side of the wings. So I loosened...
I thought the passenger side was the same across the board, only the driver side changes? I was about to bolt in my 5speed in place of the auto and was planning to re use the passenger side bracket. Now I'm worried I need a new bracket...
If you are replacing the starter get a starter for a 91 supra. The housing of the starter is threaded so you don't need the nut any more, it's also slightly smaller/shorter.
