No but racing or running the engine hard for longer periods of time will increase the temps a lot.

maybe it froze. Take a hammer and bang on the solinoid a little bit and see if it starts. Also check to make sure it has 12v at the brown plug on it.

Check the battery calbes. Esp the lil blue wire. Sometimes they look connected but really arnt.

Ya you can use auto ecu with 5 speed. Just hide the connector for tems and jump the nuetral saftey switch.

Ge has dist. Could have just jumped fp and b+ instead of running wires. Cold start injector time switch good? Circuit opening relay? Afm? Check continunity between fc and e1 with plate open.
