Take the leap into Linux then ;) gcc is ftw...you can get a port for windows but that's gross. Electrical Engineering eh? You're not gonna get away from programming at least for the first bit. Then, switch off to DSP and Circuit land and never touch programming again.
Just a few comments on your code, just for future reference and assignments :)
as said by lagged: int main(int argc, char *argv[]). You don't need those parameters, your current program would be fine with int main(void). The parameters you specified argc=number of arguments and argv is an array...
Cool, I built one of those except I used microatx components, custom LCD interface, small form factor drives/ram, 90watt DC-DC power supply and lots of C programming. =) It also *just* fit in a single DIN.
Now that was a fun project.

PS lol @ our over the top...
yup, I've seen that with maft-pro. Also, if you're running a standalone, you can tune it with a laptop.Either that, or run a REALLY long cable to your PC ;)
ah, then that my friend are the starter contacts. You've got two choices, you can rebuild your own starter and buy the contacts kit (http://www.supras.com/06/techcenter/display.php?QID=68), or buying a new one. I chose the second route because the price for a new starter wasn't that much more...
Well, if you got it jumpstarted it sounds more like a battery problem. Also, have you changed the oil to something a bit thinner for the winter? A combination of cold temps, thick oil and weak battery = troubles. I'd take your battery inside tonight and charge it if you can.
