    computer headaches

Its a micro atx board so I'm guessing the case is probably small and hardly moves any air. Arctic silver is good but did you follow the directions. More is not better with heat sink goo. Less is best. As you go through a bunch of heat cycles your temps should drop as the arctic silver settles...

    computer headaches

Ok so your bios does not see your cdrom. Forget about drivers for now. We have to get your bios to see the cdrom first. From the picture on your mboard it looks like you only have one ide slot (circled in red). Is your cdrom daisy chained to your hard drive with the same cable. The cable...

    computer headaches

You have got to boot your computer and enter into the bios. If your bios sees your cdrom than you have a OS or xp glitch. You mentioned you changed motherboards. If the chipset is different, XP has to rescan or reinstall the chipset drivers. You will have to go to HP and find your computer or...

    why switch to 91-92 dipstick

The color makes it hard to read the level. I took a wire brush to my round tip 89 dipstick and polished or removed that yellow tint.

    bypassing heatercore

^^ Is that true? No disrespect intended. When I look at the flow chart I see that the coolant flows through the block or the back side of the head and then out through the heater union. Regardless if the coolant goes through the heater core or not the coolant always flows through the back of...

    Major drivetrain vibration/shudder at 85mph

Take a wax pencil and make a mark on the tire inline with your valve stem. If the vibration starts to come back you can check the marks and see if the tires have spun on the rims.

How clean is the bottom of your car? Any oil or transmission leaks? There was a post where a members car caught on fire running a DP not connected to the exhaust.

10 psi on stock 7mgte: goor or bad?

Sounds like another good reason to use composite or stock HG on slightly modded cars instead of MHGs. Slightly modded = Intake & turbo back 3" exhaust. Repairing a HG would be less expensive than, rings, piston or bearings.

On the topic of seat belts and safety

A follow up on how the new seat belts retract or stowaway would be great. I'm getting tired of having to coax the seat belt back into the stow away or having it get caught in the door jamb when I open and close the door.:icon_bigg

    7M BHG repair and rebuild

From one lurking newb to another. I have done a lot of reading myself on SM. If you do not prep or lap the block you should not use a MHG. The composite HG is much more forgiving to imperfect surfaces and will hold up to high HP as well. Hopefully one of the senior members will chime in with...
