Does anyone know what exact condition triggers the 1JZ ECU to switch to open loop mode? I'm looking for something like the exact TPS percentage where it switches or something. I'm assuming it uses the TPS signal to trigger it, maybe it uses a certain MAP reading, or a calculated load value...
I had a 94' GS300 in for front brake pads/rotors at work today and noticed the brakes would be a nice upgrade for a MKIII, but I don't know if the calipers have the same bolt spacing as our cars, does anyone know if these bolt up?
The rotors are about the same diameter as ours... but are...
Read on here that on manual transmission cars all you had to do to bypass the JDM 180kph speed limiter was to cut the pink speed sensor wire at the ECU. This does work to get rid of the speed cut.... but my car also refused to idle normally after I did it. It was idling really low, just on the...
My &@^# steering damper is shot, it has no damping at all anymore. My steering freaks out when I get on rough roads (every road where I live). The OEM piece is ~$170 (apparently it used to be ~$120, but the price recently went up everywhere).
I saw that alot of mercedes models use a damper...
I can't get my boost set below the 14psi boost cut on my 1JZ. I'm not sure if this is normal for my setup or not, so I'm looking for advice from somone who's been here before.
-stock twins with stock exhaust y-pipe and stock compressor pipes
-single MBC (currently set to the max low setting...
My water pump bearing is growling... need to change the pump. I'd prefer to just change the front part that's easy to change and less expensive.
My engine is the 1JZ from the JZZ30 soarer that came with a clutch fan (I didn't have to swap from a hydro fan), is this the same water pump as the...
I'm sure everyone out there has lost a race at once time or another to a car that was just plain embarrassing to lose to.
I once lost to a turbo cavalier. Yeah I know. :nono:
But out of all the possibilities... what would be the worst?
I'm shopping for a winter beater again, and I'm...
I have the ride height specs from the 90' TSRM, 7.9" front and 8.6" rear measured from the LCA pivot bolts. Are these the same that are in the 87' TSRM?
Trying to calculate my estimated weight loss based on the OE spring rates, (approx 460Lb/in front and 180Lb/in rear) but I have a feeling...
The stock upper mounts have that step in them that takes about alot of travel away when you go from the stock style spring to a sleeve/2.5"ID spring setup. Pillow ball mounts should get rid of that... Anyone know of a set of pillow ball mounts that are made for these cars?
Not looking for style opinions. I just want to know if they fit well and are a good quality/durable product or if they crack and fall apart just from the wind blowing on them like some of the ebay kits do.
My stock bumper is trashed, and rather than spend hours trying to fix it I'd rather...
I read about the AFC Neo needing a reflash for the 7M guys who are running the Karmen style airflow meters. This shouldn't affect mine at all since I'm running the 1JZ with the MAP sensor, correct?
I checked my version number and it's only 1.02, but I really don't have time to send the thing...
I've been trying for hours, I even tried 2 different kinds of tires. When I put air in, they air up, but the bead won't seat. It looks like the rims have these weird indentations machined around the outer bead area and the tire is hanging up on them and won't slide into place. I've never seen...
My car needed a driveshaft carrier bearing, the rubber was shot in mine. I asked around and it seemed the only solution was to buy one from Toyota, or go to a one-piece driveshaft, either way... $200+. Someone had posted that they used a carrier bearing from a Ford Ranger (no mention of the...
Found my upper balljoint on the D/S is shot on my 87'... great, whatever, just what I need.
I found a control arm new for $70 but they say it only fits 89-92. Almost every other website I check says 86.5-92 use the same upper arms. The only thing is they all want $200+ for them. I checked the...
I think I have my mind set on a set of Koni or Bilstein dampers for the car. I came across a thread on another forum about someone using bilsteins with threaded sleeves and custom springs... basically made their own high quality coilovers. This was on a JZA80 though, so I don't know if those...
I'd like to prevent cluttering up my view and having to drill extra holes in the car, so I was thinking of using the AFC Neo as my only boost gauge. I would assume that the stock 1JZ MAP sensor is very accurate, and the AFC should be displaying exactly what it sees from the MAP sensor, correct...
I'm sure a few people read the fact or fiction featuring this stuff in Import Tuner a few months ago. I'm still pretty skeptical, but it did spark some interest. They seem to do those tests with no bias... they flat out flunked that fuel line magnet Top Fuel was selling.
Anyway, I was looking...
Turned the headlights on for the first time today and my AFC neo backlight dimmer is flashing between the dim and regular settings. I wired the dimmer signal to the ashtray light, which I assumed would turn on and off with the headlights. Why would it be doing this?
Is there any datalogging options out there for this engine that don't involve a standalone ECU or wiring up the whole car with $1000 worth of sensors and boxes?
I'm running a stock JZZ30 ECU with an AFC Neo for fuel control.
I'd just like to log RPM, throttle, boost, knock (or timing advance)...
