The bosch platinum 4's use that stupid X gap thing. I have no idea why it affects the performance but it does. the +1's worked fine in my car. Its best to run a plug that resembles what the plug intended by the designers looks like. IMO.

I think theres a switch thingy on the back of the handle that may be your culprit. If not do what I used to do and take the door panel off and jiggle stuff around till it works. I miss being a 16 year old mechanic.
