I put a brand new Delco fan clutch on during my build and man is it stiff to turn!
I'd go along with Grim change out the Clutch and also get an undertray on it mine even when it was NA would cook it's brains out at speed with no tray!
Drop in pressure could be all the gum and crap inside the motor letting go of the inside of the block and going straight to the filter and clogging it.
The "thump" can be checked by using a long handled screwdriver, run the motor and place the sharp end against the block and the handle...
I was just thinking from an engineering PoV if the trans can move something has to flex at the Engine mounts, would be a pity to break the block at the mount casting!
