    *Trim Calculation*

That's actually a perfect way to describe it Joel! In Jon's case I'm only guessing his Turbo is for a much larger motor to be moving enough air for 450hp at such a small trim!

How long since the last filter change?

Yep ya got it Joel! Bigger number takes a bigger bite as there's more blade!

I meant low oil pressure, not low revs.

Jon: Very welcome! Probably find your Turbo is for a 6+ litre motor :) Joel: There's a LOT of "black art" involved with Turbo sizing that's really just math, once you find the formulas it almost makes sense I just wish they would settle on 1 set of end user terminology to describe them...

    *Trim Calculation*

LOL this is what I meant in another thread when I said it's important to find out exactly what size wheels are in a turbo when you buy it! You could have a 50 trim on a slightly larger wheel than stock and then you have your 50 trim on a 3" wheel whick will flow a pile more! I can...

In the past I've used Poly's and had the "Squeak Mobile" afterwards, this time I used a Molydisulphide Grease during assembly and it's nice and quiet!

So spill! How is it running? (ignoring the fact it's not tuned)

LOL ditto! There are a BUNCH of other flow/size/IC efficiency calculations I could dig out to discuss but I'm sure my head would explode! ;)

LMAO! :) I used to do all this in my head now I have to have a notepad and a calculator!

    *Trim Calculation*

AM: You just measure across the blades. Joel: No the 50 trim is just the relationship of big to small. You could have a 1/2" bigger big and 1/2" bigger small and it would still be 50 trim!

    *Trim Calculation*

LOL well it still may be a 50 trim just a BIG 50 trim! ;) Guess it's just a perspective thing!

    *Trim Calculation*

LOL what I meant is to get the 40% increase in flow with a 50 trim it has to be a BIG wheel on the compressor side! Just curious how big and to see what it takes say per 10% increase in flow = xx bigger diameter! ;)

    Freeze plugs

Saw it happen a bit in the old days with SBC's, a lot depends on how it's been fitted. Way I've been doing em for many years is to clean the hole in the block and if needs be give it a light sand in a round and round motion NOT in and out. I then grab the Permatex #4 hard setting and a...

Would be interesting next time you're working on it pull the Cover and see what the wheel size is!

    *Trim Calculation*

Joel: I don't think that's a 50 trim ;)! Sounds MUCH larger! It might be a 50 trim but with bigger IN and EX sizes which would explain the difference in power you describe! ie: A much Bigger Comp wheel.
