Joel: There are a few downsides to using it from memory, You need to reengineer the studs/bolts so they're isolated from the Manifold as they'll transfer the heat you're trying to stop as well as in time it goes brittle and 1 backfire can crack it and cause a leak :(.
Not dumping on the idea...
Wayne: Yeah I was a bit surprised it was that far out!
This is the first 7M I've degreed in and it was a PITA to do for a few reasons, getting my magnetic dial indicator base somewhere to stick and then getting the plunger to contact the Shimless Bucket was a hassle but I'm glad I did it!
Wow!
Everything Old is New again! :)
I remember these from when I was a kid just starting out working on cars!
They made a brief reappearance back in the late 70's when emissions became a big deal and they started running motors hotter trying to reduce them!
Gixx: A bit of a tip that may help later.
Grab an old Driveshaft Yoke and cut the Uni joint end off and discard, then get either a piece of heavy box tubing of a sheet of thick flat plate and weld the Yoke section to it.
You can then eith put the Box one in a Vice of the Sheet one on the...
Buy it run it to 10 psi and it "should" be fine but keep in mind it's all cheap gear and there will be a weak link that will show up/fail when you try to make the big numbers that you eventually will go for thinking you have a killer turbo kit now!
Cheap
Reliable
Fast
Choose 2 ;)
Jake: They can pop the PP casting out and resurface it no probs at all and will save you heaps.
As long as the Diaphram fingers aren't worn and it has no breaks it should be fine to reuse.
The shop that does the casting will check the rest.
There aren't many ways to increase the clamp...
Shawn: LTNS! :)
I thought for split pulse to work correctly they had to be grouped per the firing order and this is why there aren't many true split pulse systems around?
(Pipes get very ugly)
Puck clutches have more load per square inch with the same PP pressure than a full face clutch, it's a trade off though as you have less surface are to provide friction.
The Puck will engage and lock up harder on a dump launch but if slipped will cook up whereas a full face will engage...
Wayne: The extra holes are a degree or so advanced and retarded so if there is any work been done to the motor or an timing belt stretch you can adjust it back to 0.
A little like adjustable pullies but on a smaller scale.
LMAO Mark!
(Can just see your 6 yr old having a blast popping the bolts)
I had 3 motors worth of bolts and NFI where they all came from so I just used another Virgin 7M as a sort of 3d TRSM ;).
