Was it not the owner that shimmed the wastegate, installed a MBC becasue shimming wasnt enough, ran double the factory set level of boost on an otherwise stock car, Racing that said car and ending up with a blown head gasket?
1jz didnt replace the 7m, it was in the same car of the same year...
Ok messy thread. Adjuster and JJ know what there talking about.
The black "thing" with 2 vac nipples on it is the idle up for the power steering. As said it leaks air to the intake manifold to raise idle to increase speed of the pully to move more fluid and give more assist for parking lot...
Everyone knows. No one swaps FROM a 1j because they cant take the lack of torque, though people swap from a 7m in a heartbeat because its "too unreliable" for them.
Thats the 3.2 right? nah it uses the 2jz bore with the stoke of the 7m. the rods are different shape and made of non-uber-tanium, same material of the rods from the 7m, so the bearings arent un-knockable and head gasket is only .852mm thick. who knows how much runtime youll get before...
Thats the best part, looks nice. Get a shot of the whole car from the side so we can see the profile. i like the stock 3 piece, a little taller one would be sweet and it looks like that what this is.
And Someday people will wake up and believe it.
Too bad, so is the theme of Blown Head Gaskets and Rod knocks being an inherent flaw in the 7M. At least everyone knows the torque jokes are just jokes, the supposed "reliability" issues are taken seriously and actually thought to be a real...
Exactly my point, a custom set, of one off pieces, that ONE person made with there own resources, are the same cost as a full kit made by a major company that already has the tooling and measurements for all of them.
Any of the JZ series. The 1, 2, 3, 5, 6 all of them are indestructible. its the 7m that blows up over something as stupid as low tire pressure. Do a search on supraforums you'll see......
All these blown up JZ stories are just made up.......funny guys.
Defiantly keep the car, especially if...
:bsflag:
Impossible, JZ's have unblow-able head gaskets and anti-knock rod bearings. Not to mention the uber-tanium internals that cant break even if you put a 1000hp shot of Nawz on it.
Your thinking of the 7m....
:D
Because theres no hole for the coolant to rise up from the block to give it flow where the other cylinders have holes. the only coolant to pass threw there is the already heated coolant from cylinder 5. where if there were holes, cooler coolant could rise from the block.
unless it flows...
Best bet would be to remove all of the stock vac line routing, half of them arent needed anyway unless your using everything in stock form. theres enough nipples on the intake for all the needed parts that use vacuum. Just running new rubber or silicone lines would be your best bet.
Im not...
:word8kn: Cant see it NOT making a difference but if it throws off the way coolant flows threw the block/head it might actually impair flow. Though the coolant that gets trapped in the back of the head cant help anything either.
you mean after you up to speed in first and clutching to second? or stopped clutching to engage first?
Im guessing you mean stopped clutching to shift into first while being stopped the whole time. thats not normal, sound like a throw out bearing to me.
