And for newer BB turbo's -4>-3 is fine and you can get away with a much smaller Return (down to -8) as they are restricted in the Oil inlet so don't flow much oil at all.
Shaeff: Bit of a tip when you reassemble it buy a tube of antiseize compound and coat the camber pins before you install em! :)

Sometimes you can get lucky and the dampener will slide off once it's unbolted but most times you'll need a puller of some sort.
(I've used a pair of crow bars to lever it off in the past taking car not to crack the timing cover)
Colin: Bolt torque is based on the Bolt material's tensile strength, thread diameter x pitch of the threads (number of TPI "threads per inch") the Head size has nothing to do with it ;)
Colin: Nope it's based on the thread size.
Stock there are 2 thick washers one each side that go between the Centre Bearing carrier and the body.
They'd be 4mm thick.
JJ: Just blows me away that the guys even contemplate ghetto fixes like this!
The Mk3 is a HEAVY Powerful bastard that even with the pwr Steer working right can be a handful on the edge I shudder to think of trying to drive it without it and even worse not Bypassed.....

There have been a few reports of the steering locking up mid corner when it's been bypassed.....
Guys go to a hydraulic hose repairer and get a new hose made it might cost ya $50 and if you can't afford that park the car for a week till you can :nono:
