86.5 if it's specific to my car and 87 in general for everything else.

Bigger diameter gives a more stable contact patch for the cam so it doesn't tilt the Shim and spit it out as it wipes across it.
(otherwise Toyota would have stuck with 28mm buckets also changes the ramp rate)
I don't think it's "swept under the rug" at all it's still posted out in the open there's just not a lot to discuss he'll send em back RC will repair/replace and it'll be fine.
You have to admit it's a fairly rare and isolated incident.
I deal with 1/10's of 1/1000's of inches here sometimes so a 3/16 error would be monumental it's all relative....
Mistakes happen and it all depends on how it's handled to how much stress it causes!
