All depends on what Turbo and Trim you're trying to control!
If you had something with a big compressor section and a tight AR you might not get enough flow from an internal gate to control it so with an external you could change to a bigger gate.

Was thinking maybe some type of paint stripper/solvent then Paint thinner followed by Prepsol and a coat of Copper Spray!
Don't really want to hit it with anything abrasive or spinning just in case!
