    Mine is a medium/light unit and will cut 1/2" plate no probs and one of these days I'll build a CNC table for it but one of the smaller units would be brilliant to have around and is much better than the traditional Gas Axe (Oxy Acetelene torch)

    I believe the Group A motors were built on thickwall NA Blocks if that helps any.

    Jeff: NA's appear to have changed much earlier and I haven't been able to pin down a specific year for GTE's so I'm not sure!

    Ring gear is on the flywheel, most motors stop in one of a few places as they come up on a compression stroke then when you go to restart them it's always wearing that section of teeth. If your starter is a bit lazy it doesn't throw the pinion gear out far enough to fully engage and over time...

    Sounds like the relay for the starter is laying down a bit. I run a relay right at the starter to make sure it doesn't happen.

    I used a new block for my build it took quite sometime to settle down and hold correct dimensions.

    Al: Mine is still non interference (just) My point is break a single and it'll soon become interference in a major way!!! Break a dual and the inner will still hold the valve up, I drove mine 30 KM's home after it let go. ;)

    And if you're being really anal about it don't forget to bolt the cam tensioner pully in place to 36ft/lbs as it deforms cyl #1 by half a thou (Of course you've had the motor bored with it in place along with the Tq plate) Sorry this is a bit tongue in cheek as there comes a point of...
