Pete: Yep a bit isolated down here but I enjoy helping out friends when I can.
If you aren't in a rush you'll make more parting it but as you already know you end up with an immobile turd as left overs....
Tek: It means the bearing has touched the crank at some stage and left part of itself there then when it happens again you get more and more wear and bigger clearences eventually the Oil Pressure can no longer keep the Oil wedge between the bearing and the crank and you get metal on metal...
Aaron: That was in the back of my mind as I'd seen pics from pre scatter shield days of drag racing :(
(I also loctite just about every bolt on the motor now as 8000 soon loosens em)
Chori: Does Max allow you to assemble your 3d parts and then assign them ranges of motion to determine if there is interference?
I forgot to add great job on the parts you and Pat have done I'm impressed!
Chori: Never used 3DSMax so can't compare the 2 but for me I can draw and then machine simple parts using Inventor in 15>20 minutes and it's free form enough to allow for my gumby skills :)
